Cosmic heroes of light and hope of their respective universes renown for their incredible willpower.
Started off as ordinary young men living on Earth, down on their luck and leading rather boring and mundane lives until one day, they came into a possession of an empowering and mysterious alien object that changed their lives, kickstarting theirs call to heroism and adventure (a Green Lantern Ring and a Core Drill).
Their adventures would have them battling foes on Earth and in space where they would go on to fight against major threats who poses a great danger to life on a universal-scale (Nekron and Anti-Spiral).
Empowered by a cosmic-based green energy of limitless potential and fuelled by their own wills, allowing them to create any constructs they could imagine (Green Lantern Will and Spiral Power).
Initially struggled with their newfound gifts and responsibilities, plagued by their own self-doubts, fears, and insecurities along with the tragic deaths of their loved ones haunting them early on in their careers (Alexander DeWitt and Kamina).
Had romantic relationships with a woman who happens to be the daughter of one of their antagonists they clashed against (Soranik Natu and Nia Teppelin).
Served as successors who surpassed previous heroes who tragically perished and also channeled these green energies, having their acknowledgment and blessing to take their spots (Kamina believed in Simon having the will to carry out his dreams, with the rest of Team Dai-Gurren eventually seeing Simon as their leader, while Hal Jordan as Parallax, gave the Green Lantern Ring back to Kyle and told him that he should be Green Lantern, a sentiment shared by the Justice League).
Both would later learn that there used to be many heroes who wielded these green energies but they were wiped out by one of their own members who fell into despair and were corrupted by multiversal entities that represented the antithesis of their energies (Lordgenome eliminating the remaining Spiral Warriors after falling into despair due to being defeated by the Anti-Spiral, who locked away their own Spiral Power and destroyed most of the Spiral Beings, while Hal Jordan annihilated the Green Lantern Corps after falling into despair and insanity after the destruction of Coast City, being influenced by Parallax who is the embodiment of fear and the enemy of the Green Lantern Corps).
They would steadily mature as men throughout their journeys and even though both are mere human, their indomitable willpower allowed them to reach even further heights and attain stronger cosmic forms, protecting the entire multiverse from harm (Kyle mastering the entire Emotional Electromagnetic Spectrum to become a White Lantern, while Simon evolved his mech into Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and later Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann).
Valiant, inspirational, endearing, selfless, and compassionate guardians who went through many trials and tribulations in their heroic careers where despite the setbacks they faced that had weighed them down physically, mentally, and emotionally, they were able to get ahold of themselves and overcome their own shortcomings and any enemies who stood in their way through sheer willpower and determination, rising above and beyond to become proud shining legends in their own right.
