Italy’s Emilia Romagna region was the place to be earlier this month, with the GT World Challenge Europe’s season-opening event, the three hours of Imola, at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari.

And while all the familiar F1 names were on-track, including Aston Martin, Mercedes, McLaren, and Ferrari. Two long-hyped future entrants were also there in Volkswagen brands Porsche and Audi, with Germany just waiting on technical regulations to green light on its F1 projects from 2026.
