72Will we ever get a Planetside 3? After I did my last Planetside 2 video, I started to wonder whether there are any plans at all when it comes to making a sequel to Planetside 2. So I did some research and came across some interesting news from 2020-2022, when it comes to the plans of a new Planetside game. But, it doesn't seem to be Daybreaks Games first priority at the moment :(

In this video I'm playing Planetside 2 and talking about the likelyhood of getting a sequel, meaning a Planetside 3!
PlanetSide 2 is an open world first-person shooter that features fights of over 200 players in close proximity and supports up to 2,000 concurrent players on a single game server. As a re-imagining of PlanetSide, PlanetSide 2 revolves around the same world and factions, but is faster-paced and includes modern shooter elements such as sprinting, iron sights, and regenerating shields. Just like the previous game, players attempt to control the planet Auraxis on behalf of their faction by capturing territories across numerous continents. Players can choose between 6 distinct infantry classes and use 18 different ground and air vehicles, each of which play unique roles on the battlefield.
Players gain experience by killing enemies, aiding allies, and capturing objectives. As they progress they earn levels (Battle Ranks) and currency (certification points, or Certs). Certs allow the player to unlock upgrades and weapons which offer situational advantages over enemies. With the certification system, players are able to specialize into certain infantry or vehicle playstyles. Daybreak Cash, a premium currency, can be purchased with real-world money and is used to buy weapons and cosmetic items; any weapons purchased with Daybreak Cash are the same as or functionally identical to those purchasable with Certs and thus offer no advantages unobtainable for free-to-play characters.
Continents can be captured, or "locked," by a faction. When a faction gains 100 Empire Strength from capturing territory, an Alert is triggered, which lasts for 90 minutes. Whichever faction controls the most territory by the end of the alert captures the continent and all players are awarded Certs and ISO-4, with the victors earning substantially more. A combat advantage is also given to the winners, which will be active until that continent is once again unlocked. More than one continent can be open at once if server population increases.
