Win 10 QL | The Thing Remastered (2024) Textures over Game Design
In plain words what is this : the PC game that was a 4:3 Xbox 1 Console port rebuild on new Engine for x64 systems with fancy 16:9 resolutions and new lighting and textures\FOV\Bump Mapping... with few art assets placed as a Making off ... and this is the only pluses ... Controls aka Menu systems and its awful management of Items\squad control\papers do not make sense if you do not play with a pad ... its a cluster fuck ... like it was before ... same can be said about the Team Infiltrator scripts ... when in 1 second after a test they are not Mimic's , do ONLY ONE STEP all of a sudden all are mimic's and attack you...
In other words, it fells and behaves like the same PS2\Xbox1 2002 game... which makes you feel like its just milking the brand name ... When Killing Time port build on the same engine was a Gem like a true Remake ... this on the other hand is meh , when you can get the same features for free by playing the game in a Xbox1\PS2 Emulator ... yeah
But then again after seeing how EA wokefied Dead Space 1 Remaster to be a turd ... guess this is the only way to make those games still be based ... Since lets be honest. 2002 "The Thing" felt like more of a dark comedy, than a horror survival game because of these ridiculous and poorly scripted moments that were spattered throughout the game. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the Jank in some places when you run clueless with no info what to do ... since "let's pad the game to be longer" , sometimes irks you...
