Windblown Early Access Cataclysmic Run: Fish Knife and Shield | The Most Overlooked Combination
12I feel like a lot of people don't realize how good the Shield actually is as a hybrid support weapon. Once you get a gift that refills trinkets through base damage or criticals, then you've got the best trinket spam build in the game. Add Lifesteal Flask and the rechargeable Flask and you've got an amazing healer build. All this while taunting the enemies to focus on you as your allies dps leisurely while you use your parry to boost Fish Knife alterattack for effect synergy. The enemy AI also stands still for a long time confused when taunted cause I think even the devs didn't expect players to use this weapon. But that's a positive for us!
Although, the problem that the Shield has is that it has a startup animation which means you can't block everything by just holding it after an alterattack and lingering field zones like fire zones or the green rat trapper can bypass you. So you at least have to think about what enemy you're fighting.
This took 3 runs to complete but over 20 resets just for a shield to spawn
