Windows 10 Update Starts Causing Serious Problems. Microsoft released Windows 10 KB4532693 security update which is known to revert some system settings to default settings, in the process it also removes data and files from the users desktop. Lots of users have complained that Windows 10 has renamed the main user profile folder. These files can be restored from a user profile folder ending in .000 or .bak name. There has also been reports of the desktop going black and the start menu showing up empty. I removed the update from my system until the problem is fixed.

Remember: Its your responsibility to always keep back up of your data.
