[Windows 11] What is the new security feature "Administrator Protection"?
In an article published on the official blog "Windows Developer Blog" on May 19, 2025 (US time), Microsoft said that it plans to introduce "administrator protection" as the next security feature of "Windows 11".
The reason why administrator protection is necessary is that applications are most vulnerable to attacks when they are running with elevated privileges.
In this state, they have the broad ability to change system-wide settings and implement changes that affect the entire system.
When malicious code runs in an elevated state, it can capture tokens and move laterally within an organization, leading to widespread compromise.
Recent statistics show that token theft cases that abuse user privileges have increased to approximately 39,000 per day.
In this video, I talk in monologue format based on that blog article.
