New tricks:

Galaxy brain strat! A Galaxy can dupe more stuff than a Tarsus; I'm bringing this back because I need a turret from the start, and because it's nice to buy everything at once and then never have to deal with the ship dealer interface agan, except for repair and missiles. Galaxy can also point itself at cargo faster, and afterburn home faster, I suppose.

Turret contraband search skip: Hide in your turret when you get searched; the second speech clip won't play, so autopilot away.

Hunter Toth optimization: when you meet Toth, turn around and afterburn away from him. The retros always spawn in the same place, and this gets you closer to them

Running silent: I think the crash in Gamma is caused by too many afterburner noises. I didn't get the crash when I turned sound off (and it ruined a previous attempt with sound.) No clue yet if this is correct, and I'll experiment wiht this later. It is very sad that I am now looking at crash avoidance/mitigation trickery.

Drone fight: Afterburn past it at the start, and fly aggressively. It seems to me that whenever we fly cautiously we get wrecked, but afterburning around like a maniac produces better results.






This could be tough to beat. I had one crash, which only cost me about 50 seconds, and I mostly didn't do anything stupid. I think the biggest mistake was not dock-launching at Rygannon to make the drone go away - that probably cost about another 30 seconds.
