Winter Games is a sports simulation video game released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987. It is one of the many ports of the game based on the initial two ports in 1985 made for the Commodore 64 and the Apple II. The game features four winter sports events: hot dog aerials, speed skating, figure skating and bobsled. The remaining events from the Commodore 64 and Apple II version aren't present. Players can compete in single events or in a full Olympic-style tournament 2. The game was presented as a virtual multi-sport carnival called the “Epyx Winter Games” with up to 2 players each choosing a country to represent, and then taking turns competing in various events to try to be the best.
Unlike the other ports of Winter Game, the NES version was often critised for featuring less events than most other ports and having difficult controls for most of the events.
