Grindiness is the braindead way through which games try to keep you addicted to the idea that you have a purpose. Honestly, that's all there is. Haven't you seen this: if you don't like the game but it is just an escapism tool, the moment you no longer have a purpose in it, especially as a man, you simply ditch it, or are getting easily more and more determined to do so. Without a purpose, you slowly realise the game doesn't need you. But your attention. Because your attention can make you invest emotionally, get attached emotionally and maybe, eventually... ultimately spend some $$$ :3
