WITWI - Hero's Hour, Mount & Blade but pixel art | ULTRAWIDE IMPRESSIONS |
Hero's hour is somewhat of a grand campaign, M&B, auto battle strategy game that incorporates a lot of elements of each of those games into the mix and that makes for a decent experience.

+ Funky music
+ Short bursts of fun
+ Ultrawide works well
+ Large variety of factions and units
- Settings options sometimes lack context
- AI can be challenging (This is also a positive for some people)
In this game you start as one general that slowly builds up their army in order to dominate the world. It works somewhat like a grand campaign style with auto battles that can be skipped. You can somewhat control your units as well as cast spells during battle, but the spell casting is by far a lot more effective than unit control.
There are lots of factions to choose from, and lots of starting generals for each faction. I have not been able to play every single faction, but from my understanding, each faction theme is utilised very well with unique powerups related to said theme.
You can build one building per day, and recruit a certain amount of soldiers per week. It is important that you do not waste your soldiers because it could be an entire week before you can build more. Target "easy" enemies at first.
There are a lot of side quests in the map, and the maps can get very large in scale. You have lots of options to choose from, but there is also a lot of user generated content for the game, as well as mods.
Overall, Hero's Hour was a no brainer for the Humble Choice bundle I got it with. The full asking price of 18$ might be a bit too much for some people. If you find it on a sale, I would snag it for sure. Most of the time it can be found for around 10$ or so in various stores.
