Wizard of OZ SNES - The Next Torture Game PT 1
0After the cool down of hell that was Holy Diver, I decided we needed new jank to check out. Wizard of Oz for the SNES is infamous for it's jank. The AVGN even did a video review of it.
Good points yes there are good ones:
Farming for lives is really easy as you don't need to leave the stage entirely as it'll respawn.
Farming for the very over powered floating shoes is also easy theres one that spawns at the very start in one of the stages (you'll see me farm this many times)!
Control isn't as shoddy as Holy Diver was, it was overall smooth and responsive.
Bad Points:
I will point out two very bad points which may or may not been covered in other video reviews of this uh gem... first passwords are given at certain legs, but you can't get another password until you do another leg. So if you farm for lives, you either have to save state, or pick up where you left off. Game Overing does NOT net you new a password! I wish you could get a password when you could.
Second: One of the mini games, which after four hours of trying, is NOT required to do unlike the other mini games. Many thanks to LittleMixer from the community for pointing this out.
Originally set for 6 hours, this was a sub-a-thon (or torture thon) stream. How long I go (up to 13 hours) depends on the community. Two folks in particular came in and max out the timer. I was getting exhausted at the 11 1/2 mark, so I stopped it there. We'll start with at least 8 hours next time I show case this on my twitch channel.
On that note, we coulda have gone a lot farther in this playthrough if it wasn't for that awful AWFUL mini game!
