Edit: Edit: KI made a change to the items that this boss drops on 2/1. He no longer drops the athames but instead now drops the boots. Maxine Rockhoppierre drops the athames instead. I think less people are going to do the Rententen side quests now.

Strategy:

Rententen's main cheat is that he can only be damaged on the turn he uses 'Snowball Barrage'. Since this is random, some matches can involve a lot of passing.
1) Defeat the minions first. Don't put traps on the boss until all his minions are defeated.
2) After the minions are gone, Rententen will give each Wizard a 'Legendary Spy ' card. This allows the player to see what spell he will cast.
3) Blade/trap until the boss uses Snowball Barrage. Then attack him.
