The difficulty takes another step up, though it's still pretty easy. This map introduces the Gladiator, which is the single most obnoxious and irritating monster in the whole Quake series. He wouldn't be quite so infuriating if he had a targeting laser showing where he was about to fire--as it is you basically have to guess where and when he will fire, which is not fun.
