This level introduces the Gunner, which is, behind the Gladiator, the second most dangerous enemy in the game. Most Quake II enemies don't do a whole lot of damage, but the Gunner can absolutely destroy you with its grenade attack (four grenades for up to 160 damage!) if you aren't precise in your movements, and without the benefit of quicksaves, I'm not the deftest little butterfly in the world so I'm going to get owned by these guys a lot. The Gunner is one of the few Quake II monsters that is just as deadly as its Quake 1 counterpart, actually worst in this case--I never have as much trouble with Ogres.
