I've been playing World of Warcraft since early 2006, so it's been a part of my life for quite a while. I've decided to make an on-and-off Let's Play of the game, doing one zone at a time to experience the lore and the many stories of this huge MMORPG!
Tirisfal Glades are the westernmost part of the former human kingdom of Lordaeron. Lordaeron fell after the third war, when the Scourge went fourth and killed all in it's path, raising whoever they killed into undeath to serve the Scourge. After the Lich King lost some of his power at a point, a group of the undead broke free from his control and regained their free will. Under the leadership of the banshee Sylvanas Windrunner, they now called themselves the Forsaken. They first tried to rejoin the Alliance, but their envoys never returned (presumably slain on sight for being undead). Then they tried to join the Horde, and with a bit of luck they got accepted. The Forsaken built a new city, the Undercity, underneath the ruins of the old capital city of Lordaeron and from there they try to make Tirisfal Glades their true home. But there are still Scourge-controlled undead roaming the glades that needs to be slain, and the zealous human organization of the Scarlet Crusade has their stronghold in the Scarlet Monestary up in the north, intent on destroying all undead, Scourge or not, from the surface of Azeroth.
