Workbench 3.1 Guide 8/12 - A Tour of Deluxe Paint 2 - by LemonAmiga.com
Deluxe Paint 2 (or DPaint 2) was the bespoke professional bitmap editing software on the 16 bit platforms, perhaps the Photoshop of it's day, and the name of the software told you everything you needed to know. I used this tool until DPaint 3 came along, and it was a 'must have' on the Amiga.

While making my Workbench guides, I got a message from Johnny Smoesau asking if I could record some extra content for him. He wanted to see a review of the classic Dpaint, but there isn't too much to say about it other than it was the industry standard on the Amiga and IBM PC until the mid 90s, and even today is used by enthusiasts to make art and to edit images. This is a tour of that software, which hopefully includes some nostalgia from the days when we simply didnt have anything better, and pressing Tab to cycle through the colours was like magic. Johnny also requested Conquest of the Longbow, which is coming up this summer in our Medieval Banquet series.
Next week we are looking at installing Copper Backgrounds and Newicons.
