Working on the Vortex - Fast Forwarded 15x Video
This is only a fraction of all time spent. It was idea I had and many things needed to be tested, looked at, changed, tested. Decided for this to work, the mesh with the animated water vortex needs to extend up as far as the water goes in order to use it as a soft collision mesh like the snow. I can remove the sheer strength of the ground model and reduce the friction. Originally I was going to make a cracked hole in ice, with a water vortex under it. But thought maybe I could make part of the track wind around it with hazardous conditions to encourage more accidents. Mesh road is terrible to drive on, so decided to use terrain instead. Terrain paints can have ground models assigned. Mesh road, nope. And to get a mesh road smooth it requires such a small break angle like 0.25. Then it is a performance issue for some. Maybe this type of thing should not be in a rally track but instead a wreck scenario made for purposes of just making crash videos.
