The Type 59 G is a Chinese tier 8 premium medium tank.
Chinese medium tank. Initially, the vehicle was a copy of the Soviet medium T-54A tank. The Type 59 entered service in 1959. The first tanks manufactured had no gun stabilizer or night-vision device. Later the vehicle underwent several modernizations. Between 6,000 and 9,500 vehicles of all variants were manufactured from 1958 through 1987.
A golden variant of the famed Type 59, the Type 59 G had a long and fancied history in World of Tanks. First appeared in the Chinese server around 2010 as the "premium" counterpart of the original Type 59, it was sold for $180 and notable for generates 3 times more credits and XP than the original variant.
Later, the Type 59 G were introduced in the live server for the first time in 2011 simply as a "limited edition" variant of Type 59 which were available for sale on various holiday. However, the Type 59 G lost its triple credit generation and being sold at the same price of the original variant.
After the Type 59 were removed from store in 2012, the Type 59 G were removed completely from the game. Any players who have purchased Type 59 G at that time will receive the original Type 59 as compensation.
However, the Type 59 G has returned to the game in 2019 in Black Market auction event with identical stats. It is now one of the rarest tank in the game.
