World of Warcraft character chose guide.
If you are completely new, you may want to keep it simple !
Everyone should have these 3x to begin with;
Hunter, Warrior and Priest.
Personally i like MARKSMAN Hunter the best for questing the LOREMASTER achievement, and that is where you clear all zones from every quests in order, first the original vanilla, then expansion after another. Hunters have their pet, that can be used as TANK, making this a bit easier to solo. Dont rush to max level with your new main.
When you reach the endgame content you can try SURVIVAL spec with melee, maybe for PvP.
I did lock my Hunter experience gain to level 23, that is when it gets Multi shot skill, this can be done in Stormwind city (this will chance in time, so just check when you can get this specific skill, when you reach each expansions you might want to raise your current xp level cap with it).
You loose the first timer experience if you grind your main character to max level fast as possible, and that is not the way i suggest for you at this point.
Focus on the story and the quests in order instead, some quests become tricky to complete when you are at max level.
If you chose the version you get a free character boost with, give it to your Priest character, and make it a SHADOW damager.
Cloth casters are hardest to level up with the questing method. You can keep this reserved untill you know the basics.
When you have enuff knowledge of the game, you could go try PvP healing, or keep up the damager role.
You are gonna get booted out dungeons if you are completely clueless.
Warrior FURY damager to begin with when you have tested out Hunter and Priest first.
This character is quite good for grinding PvE dungeons, you dont really wana have 3x characters working for LOREMASTER.
Keep your main character only doing the quest chains and grind the reputations.
If you decide to go questing LOREMASTER with Warrior instead, you should pick PROTECTION tank spec, does smaller amount of damage, but keeps you alive longer.
Race: I strongly suggest you go with Night Elfs, they have SHADOWMELD, you can escape big pulls you are not ready for, its not about doing top damage, its about staying alive. Second easy choise would be Humans.
Yea yea, you propably get booed and spitted for choosing Alliance "rats", but that usually comes from experienced Horde players who have forgotten how new game feels like.
When you reach end game you can swap your race and faction if you dont feel like Night Elfs is your thing.
Professions: Should ignore these completely, and just focus on getting to know the basics of the game, but if you insist then go with the collecting ones, like skinning, herbalism and mining to choose from. You really dont need extra money, you can get by with questing rewards gear, that is how the original version was designed.
Dungeons and PvP grindings are really for alt characters, for your main character you can go with RAIDING in the end content, once you have cleared everything else, at this point you should already know enuff about the game.
Once you are done with these first choises, you can go try Demon Hunter and Death Knight, these are easy to grind with dungeons.
At this point it is your personal preferances.
Thank you for checking.
