Noortje her story: My name is Noortje Westerveld, 14 years old and I study pre-university education here in the Netherlands. My dream is to participate in School at Sea. By participating I will be learning to lead and take leadership, to communicate clearly, to take responsibility, to learn from my mistakes and to find out what my specific talents are. During School at Sea I will independently keep track of my school work. I really want to participate, because I want to learn different things than what I learn at school. I want to get to know myself and the world better. Furthermore, I really like traveling and going on an adventure. School at Sea is a development program where you sail across the Atlantic Ocean in 6 months. Together with 35 other students. The entire process costs a lot of money, 26000 euro to be exact. Therefore I need people and companies willing to support me financially.
