This Pallada class protected cruiser served in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. In 1917 she fired shots to signal the assault on the Winter Palace which eventually lead to the rise in power of the Bolshevik party and the removal of the Tsar Nicholas II.

Today the ship is a floating museum located in St. Petersburg and is currently (as of 2015) undergoing a maintenance overhaul in Kronstadt.
