World War Z AFTERMATH is a game for four players who work together to shoot zombies. It's an action-packed game where you kill zombies and complete missions in various locations worldwide. The main goal is to survive the zombie apocalypse by killing, escaping, and staying alive. Players need to use a mix of stealth and smart tactics to move around the groups of zombies. This becomes more important when the game gets harder, with zombies becoming tougher and more aggressive. Teamwork is really important to survive in the game.
In response to the zombie outbreak in Japan, the government recognized its inadequacy in combating the growing threat. Faced with the lack of combat experience within the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) and strict regulations limiting firearm ownership to specific individuals, such as military soldiers and police officers, the government opted for a strategic evacuation of the Japanese home islands to secure locations. This decision was driven by the realization that traditional military measures might prove insufficient in the face of the zombie horde, prompting a mass exodus to alternative safe zones as a means of safeguarding the population.
In the midst of a search and rescue mission, Team 4, led by Sho Sugiyama and including Kimiko Nomura, Tatsuo Matsumoto, and Hiroji Okada, joins their rescue leader in rounding up stranded civilians. After realizing the dire state of the streets filled with zombies and empty houses, they decide to conclude the operation. While heading back to their rescue leader, they hear gunshots on the highway, learning about enemy contact that might attract more zombies. The team reaches the rescue leader's bus at a tunnel and defends it from lurking zombies.
Encountering a roadblock, they lower it using a control panel, inadvertently alerting a zombie swarm due to a civilian's desperate escape attempt. Successfully fending off the swarm, the team reaffirms the wisdom of the evacuation decision. Upon contacting command, the rescue leader learns that the commander cannot accept 34 civilians due to a failing perimeter. Team 4 volunteers to cover the gates, prompting the commander to accept the remaining civilians with a warning of evacuation if the gates are breached.
As they fight their way to Gates 1 & 2, Kimiko discusses the situation with Hiroji, who reveals that it was even worse in Los Angeles. Arriving at the gates, they collaborate with the JSDF to set up defenses, successfully holding off a massive zombie swarm. Thanks to their assistance, the bus carrying civilians is allowed through the gates, marking a critical moment in their efforts to protect and evacuate survivors.
