Hello, everyone!

Today, let's take a look at the new premium tank for Britain, the Challenger 2 OES. It is positioned at a battle rating of 11.3, which should mean very close to maximum effectiveness in ground battles... But there are nuances.

Let's start with the advantages:
- VERY fast reload. If you have a well-trained crew (which is unlikely if you're considering this tank) or you're willing to spend on it, it can reach 5 seconds. Essentially, this means one of the fastest reloads at this battle rating, second only to Japanese MBTs. However, we lose this advantage if our loader is knocked out or if we expend the first-round ammo (equivalent to 4 shots).
- Excellent gun depression angle of -10 degrees, allowing comfortable gameplay from the terrain.
- Good protection and additional defensive measures (sides are protected with ERA, and the turret has a metal "cap" that can catch a stray artillery shell).
- High maximum reverse speed (up to 38 km/h), allowing for a quick retreat after a missed shot.

Now, let's see what's not so great:
- Terrible specific engine power and maximum forward speed. This is the SLOWEST tank at this battle rating, and the difference is very noticeable. Slow acceleration, poor turning, significant speed loss on turns. We lose all timings and initiative at the beginning of the battle.
- Weak main shell. Armor penetration is generally sufficient, although less than its counterparts, but the shell's fragmentation after penetrating tanks is very weak (affecting not only new vehicles with spall liners but also old ones). The only ways to reliably destroy a tank are a direct hit to the ammo rack or a careful shot through the driver's viewport. Sadly, even these do not guarantee destruction. See the example in the video.
- Huge driver's viewport and gunner's sight. Besides their enormous size, they are also located in the center of the tank's projection, where players usually shoot; as a result, we are often one-shot.
- Very high visibility. The engine is very loud, depriving us of the opportunity to make a sudden attack. Additionally, the metal "cap" protecting against artillery is located very high and is very noticeable. It's very difficult to hide the tank behind terrain.
- High silhouette. Despite providing some advantages, in the case of this tank, it's a significant drawback. The problem is that most tanks (especially Soviet ones) are lower than us, causing the shell to fly at a steeper angle. In many situations, this deprives us of the ability to destroy a tank with a shot to the lower armor plate - the fragments simply fly down, past the crew. When shot at, it works in the opposite direction - the fragments spread very well and destroy the entire crew.

What conclusions can we draw?
At the moment when this tank was assigned to a battle rating of 11.3 with its terrible mobility, it was doomed to suffer. Every battle is spent watching helplessly as opponents take key positions and seize the initiative, and then trying to play it back - very difficult. In direct confrontations, we have very little chance... most likely, we will get a one-shot when playing aggressively, or we will be surrounded and destroyed when playing passively.
At the same time, on some maps, there are positions that allow for good shots and do not require precise timings - on such maps, we can use our reload speed and gun depression angles. If used as a complement to a setup rather than the main tank, it can be played quite comfortably.
Nevertheless, my main verdict - the tank simply cannot handle tough games and requires serious skills even for basic effectiveness; the result also depends much more on the map and the level of play of the opponents than with other tanks - in other words, you can have a good match only if the enemy team plays poorly.

Enjoy watching!
