Worth its Wait in Gold? - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Review
Not even hours into its release, and the accolades came flooding in.
Nintendo has done it again, they proved that Breath of the Wild wasn't just lightning in a bottle, they took a formula that was nothing but expansive and somehow went even further than we could've ever imagined. It smashes anything else that's come out not only this year, but the years prior.
This is the Game of the Year. But...how much of that is actually true? Even though their last mainline title "breathed" life back into the franchise, it wasn't without its hiccups. Some might even say that it doesn't really hold up as much as it did in the past. While I don't think that (at least not completely), I can understand where the naysayers are coming from. Which is why I held myself at a bit of a neutral position with my expectations for Tears of the Kingdom.
The scales have been tipped at times, the trailers and the gameplay showcase brought promise but the abrupt price raise didn't help much to bring Nintendo back into my good graces after being in hot water as of late. Despite everything that's happened, I didn't want to have my mind made up until I played the game myself. And that's what this video is for.
After six long years, the long-awaited continuation of one of the biggest games of our current generation is finally here, and it's time for us to take a plunge back into the World of Hyrule and find out if this sequel not only lives up to the hype, but also to the hard bargain it drives.
