The vast majority of modern country seems to be brainless fodder, but you never know, every once in a while you might come across a song which has actual emotion and pathos put into it, and that actually suits the wispy twang of the banjos being shoved down your ears.

Watching a live video of this was so disconcerting, because the crowd seemed to be filled with old people. Which I have nothing against, but it goes to show that the younger crowd seems to run to the tasteless and only those who have no real stake in the popular consciousness go for the good country. Sheesh. I think the only other modern country artist in RB that I like is Trace Adkins, but even then, I'm glad we never got his version of Honky Tonk Badonkadonk or whatever the hell it is.
