Wow! 3 Techniques in 1 Creation! Artist Collaboration w/ Rinske Douna 2022 Celebrate
Hi Everyone - thank you so much for joining me today. It’s the last creation of 2021 for me to share with you and I’m leaving this year on a high. I’m collaborating with my good friend and talented artist Rinske Douna.
We are creating a piece for each other based on some of our goals and aspirations for 2022. We haven’t seen each other’s creations yet so I hope Rinske enjoys what I’ve created and the concept and story behind the piece. Check out Rinske here: @RinskeDouna https://www.youtube.com/c/rinskedouna and the video creation for this collaboration here: https://youtu.be/wiNZPDdJozM
For me personally, Rinske has not only been a huge inspiration to me, but also a mentor and a friend. I’m very lucky. I’ll talk you through the design I’ve created and the meaning behind each decision. I’m creating a piece using 3 different techniques and using a colour palette that is unique to Rinske’s goals. Make sure you check out the piece Rinske has designed for me.
That leaves me to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2022 and I hope you all get whatever you wish for. For now, Rinske this is for you - let’s see what we can create.
Interpretation of the creation:
The top left section - dutch pour - using blue and green tones. This represents travel and the the view you may see from above the Earth. It’s nature and travel will be a big part of your creative future. I couldn’t not do this technique seen as Rinske is the creator and founder of Dutch Pour.
The middle section - ring pour - this uses 5 green tones. Green is your favourite colour and it represents rings from a tree. Longevity. Each line is a pathway through the future. And the route you take along each pathway.
The top right section - the base colour is gold (because this represents your heart, your morals, values and your generosity). Gold is all about wealth, not just financial but the wealth of support, inspiration and knowledge of your craft and creativity. And those that you support and encourage. The burst of colours represent emotions you will use within your creativity.
Today’s piece is inspired by: 2022 and the goals and aspirations for Rinske Douna.
Technique used: 3 techniques in one creation; dutch pour, ring pour and dry swipe.
What I learnt: the success to a creation is planning and having FUN
