WoW at Loading Speed Redux HDD VS SSD
1Hello again!
Despite it not being requested outright, I can't go mentioning the good things about HDD vs SSD without making a duplicate video. We have the same laptop here (specs in first video), only this time I cloned the drive to an Intel 160 GB G2 SSD.
Times:
Executing Patcher = ~5 seconds
Patcher to Login Screen = 10 seconds
Login to Character / Realm Selection = 5 seconds
Login from Character Selection to appearing in game = 22 seconds
Caching / post-buffering = ~15 seconds
Logout to Desktop = 3 seconds
While more people in Stormwind (Sunday evening atm) caused a lower framerate, you can see the stuttering is mostly gone and the game runs pretty smoothly. At low in most outdoor areas, it's quite playable now ;). Thank you Intel ^^. Again, I don't work for them or do anything in terms of "pro" reviews; I'm just a satisfied customer. As you can see, times are cut significantly. Enjoy.
Finally, yes I KNOW this copy of Windows is not genuine. I installed a valid second copy to the laptop for performance testing purposes but did not activate it yet.
