Shadowstep changed in the pre-MoP patch to include friendly targets. I found you can use it on a lot of things other than players, like steam tonks, combat pets, racecars etc.
To do it you bring out your tonk, racecar or whatever you want to shadowstep to, then remove it and spam Shadowstep, simple as that!

I haven't been able to pass through most walls yet, but there are still some uses until then though, as seen in the video.
