Jump to 1:50 to see the achievement procedure. Make sure you don't turn in quest as you finish the first rapid. Just mount up and fly back up to initial position where you started on the boat. Jump on boat and keep re-casting fish. Remember how many fish you got on first run.

Ex: If you had 23 fish on first run, then 2nd run, you would only need 17 fish to get the achivement. You need a total of 40 fish.

Also, on your second run, the previous stacks you accumulated will disappear. No worries. Just keep casting and get your fish. easy peasy.
