Wrath: Aeon of Ruin (Part 7 / Finale) + Quake (Runic Map Brief Showcase)
Original stream date: 03/08/2024
The Blood Pits was a fun map, has probably my favorite music track in it. Really has that Quake 1 energy that I thought would've appeared more in the tracklist (not knocking the OST, like it's still good, but I just thought more tracks would be in this vein). Dunno what to really say about it beyond that.
The Red Throne has a good layout, some cool aesthetics, but a combination of ammo starvation and some really aggravating ambush encounters kinda hold the map back from being fun.
Crucible of Souls had a lot of cool scenic stuff, including the central platforming area, but I found that particular spot to be extremely tedious to traverse. Beyond that, the rest of the map is fine, and it does have probably my favorite arena in the entire game at the end of the map, although it probably could've went a bit harder on the final encounter, weirdly enough.
The final boss is fine. Better than the other bosses (in my opinion), very clear-to-understand mechanics in the fight and the attacks seemed fair enough for a final boss, although I did kinda cheese it with a flask of rage and a mace overcharged with 50 souls, so I don't actually have a good gauge on how tanky it actually was.

So if I had to rate this game, I would probably give it a 7/10. Most of the maps range from alright to good. Outside of the weird jank with the movement really not agreeing with ledges, most of my frustrations with the game come from the enemies and enemy placement more than anything else.
My favorite level in this is kind of a toss-up between The Priory, Crystal Dunes, and Boundary of the Living. My least favorite level was probably Shadow Pantheon, and my favorite hub overall was probably the first hub as it felt the most consistent in terms of quality, having played the entire game now and being able to evaluate everything.
Think if I ever did replay this, which is probably unlikely, I'd probably be turning infinite saves on, just so I could save-scum my way through it.
