Wreckless - or more specifically, Wreckfest the Yakuza Missions - was one of the first games that I literally dreamt about when it was first mentioned to me. I don't even remember where I first heard about it - probably in a video game magazine, maybe on a tv show about video games (we had the internet back in those days but it was nothing like it is now - now you can find *everything*, back then if there was one of two things about something you considered yourself overwhelmed with information.

So I bought this game the moment i could and it was everything I hoped it would be - visually - it has real particle systems, dynamic lighting, it was a feast for the eyes.

The missions on the other hand, as one game reviewer put it, were an unbalanced mix of "walk through blindfolded and succeed first try" easy to "throw your controller across the room out of frustration" hard. I did finish the game - several times - but I am the first to admit that that person was 100% correct - the difficulty varied wildly.

In the end though, I didn't mind. I just wanted more.

I still do.

This is why I like so many XBox games - it's like they were made for gamers, they were made for people to have fun, be challenged, frustrated, even - and they provided new experiences that stick in our memories for decades.

I will *never* get tired of this game, and so many others from this generation (xbox AND ps2, and some gamecube/wii games even lol) - it's not (just) about living in the past, it's about reliving the first time a game made you happy, made you forget everything else, and just be in the moment. It was about beating something that was actually difficult and knowing that you did it on your own.

There are many current games that I love, don't misunderstand, but I will always have a soft spot for my original Xbox and PS2 games - always.

thank you for watching, and if anyone is wondering why i keep posting stuff even though in 12-ish years of running this channel I'm only approaching 350 subscribers, well, yes, I would like more subs, but to be honest, this channel is as much for me as anyone else - i actually enjoy watching my videos, i even occasionally laugh at my own jokes.

Never do anything you don't enjoy - especially if you try to make money off it. If you do not enjoy what you are doing , no amount of money can make it better, believe me, I know. I do this because, primarily, I enjoy it, and if you enjoy it too, that makes me very happy - so thank you to everyone who has subscribed, commented, given my videos and thumbs up, and if you get to the end of this and are still reading, the secret word - if I ever ask what the secret word is, is bananas. Or maybe tangerine. Guess you'll have to watch and find out ;)

See you in the next video.
