It was everything that fantasy fandoms could have wanted, and directed by none other than Ralph Bakshi, this movie is somewhat of a fan favourite! This movie was designed with fantasy painter Frank Frazetta, who is a legend in his field. So with Ralph Bakshi and Frank Frazetta, this movie was supposed to be the definitive animated epic of pulp-era dreams. This movie looked nothing like any other cartoon on the market at the time! It was the perfect mix of realism and oil painting aesthetics. But, despite that, this film's legacy can be best described as complicated. So you gotta wonder– what happened?
