We all know that the original 1987 directorial by Paul Verhoeven unquestionably created a classic sci-fi-action film whose social satire has only gotten more relatable in the present times. Ideally, RoboCop should have been a single masterpiece, without any sequels, but it is what it is. They kept going, and while RoboCop 2 had its flaws, it still had some weight to it. Then came RoboCop 3, and that’s where things really fell apart. The tone changed, the lead changed, and it felt like the people behind it didn’t fully understand what made the original work in the first place.
