Have you ever wanted to play a Saving Private Ryan game where you play as the soldier(s) that die as soon as the ramps go down? No? Well GT Interactive made this game back in 1999 anyway. It's a standalone mod that was created on the build engine.

I kind of like that it takes inspiration from some other games like Medal Of Honor, where some maps require you to do objectives before you can advance to the next level, such as blowing up certain things and escorting a soldier to safety. Voice acting is ok too. But unfortunately that's about all I like about this one. Enemies kill you just as quick as you kill them (and there's way more of them obviously), your AI companions are useless aside from the medic at the very beginning, tanks can blow you up from behind walls, and your weapons only hit nazis when they want to. But what makes me really cranky is medkits only heal you when you're standing still, and you can only carry two at a time. Ugh.

An engine made around fast-paced action probably wasn't the best choice to make a semi-realistic war shooter. I won't consider it the worst thing I'll play for this year though. Even if I'm forced to get intimate with the quicksave button.

I used Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition and eduke32 to play this fan made game, and StreamlabsOBS to record it. I played on the "Come Get Some" difficulty.
