I was playing my favorite old X-com game and got the aliens to drop the giant worthless overspawn. After it was killed the first time I reloaded to show it again.

As you can see in the first attack it got slowly picked apart by a bunch of low tech craft, and in the second attack it got killed right away by a collapsing building. The overspawn really needed a ranged attack of some kind and a way to protect it from being killed when a building drops on it.
