It is the year 1999. Unidentified flying objects have been increasingly seen flying over the world’s skies, and initial contacts with these visitors from outer space have been outright hostile. Attempts by the various militaries of developed nations to fight back have resulted in horrible losses. The alien invaders possess superior technology on all fronts. Earth was facing total subjugation by an unknown enemy.

A last ditch effort to combat this seemingly unstoppable threat led to the creation of an elite force of soldiers, scientists, engineers and other personnel collectively known as the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit, or X-COM. Funded by the world’s nations and equipped with state-of-the-art, cutting edge Earth-based technology, X-COM is mankind’s last line of defence against the alien forces that clearly do not come in peace.

This video pays homage to a 1994 video game that effectively gave rise to the planetary defence simulation genre, and went on to become an all-time classic in video gaming history. It will also showcase a night terror mission involving the Snakemen and the terrifying Chryssalids, where fourteen X-COM operatives are in a race against time to eliminate all terror units and save as many innocent civilians as they can... before the streets are overrun by zombies.
