X-Men 2: The Clone Wars released in 1995 as a sequel to the 1993 "X-Men" for the Sega Genesis. You can choose from a larger line up of characters this time: Beast, Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Wolverine, Gambit, and Cyclops. Mutant powers are for the most part improved, and well as each character getting unique movement abilities for a more unique experience with each. The level design is lacking however. The music and sound design also take a huge hit compared to the first Genesis title.
