X Plane 11 : Airfoillabs Cessna 172 : Tutorial 7 Flight Planning with the Garmin 430
95Planning an IFR flight can seem intimidating. The Garmin 430 allows the creation of complex flight plans that are simple to create. It also displays flight progress through a colour moving map display. In this video we look at how to read and select the relevant charts, and how that data is entered into the G430.
Note that the runway selected at the destination is incorrect, but it still serves as a useable example. The video was created from two flights. The first attempt had freak weather conditions, and in the second the G430 died when reaching arrival.
