XBOX 360 DASHBOARD UPDATED JULY 29, 2024
9After 19 years of full functionality, the Xbox 360 dashboard has now been pretty much stripped.
July 29, 2024 brought the end of purchasing new games, Xbox Live Arcade titles, premium themes, gamer pics etc.
You'll see a before & after on this video side by side. Most notably, the boxes in the 'home' section are more rectangular and stretches out the graphic for the game in disc drive. PLEASE NOTE: if you are offline / disconnected from the internet, the 'full old dashboard' appears. There wasn't a true update (yet) from Microsoft; just an XML file was modified for a 'soft update' to remove the storefront.
Personally, I hope Microsoft will do the 360 justice and perhaps go back to one of the earlier dashboards (Blades or the NXE dashboard) or a hybrid of both. Right now it just looks cold and lifeless. Among ALL Xbox generations, the 360 was their best selling console
