A quick play of stage 1 "Halloweentown Aflame". I'm a big fan of the Japanese frantic shooters. This was all going so well until the Wandering Reaper boss :-) Caught in the wrong place at the wrong tme at the end there. Deathsmiles is fast and furious, I can just about play leve3 3 difficulty but there is also a Level 999 difficulty which is just crazy!
I'm playing the Mega Black Label 1.1 version here, there's a few changes here including a new button arrangement, the ability to play as Sakura, an additional Crystal Shrine stage and the ability to control your familiar with the second analogue stick. I can definitely recommend this game for fans of Cave's other releases although it may have limited appeal for those that prefer slower paced shooters.
