Xbox "Had Nothing to Do" With Redfall's Disastrous Launch?
Xbox boss Phil Spencer has apologized for the disastrous launch of Redfall, a first-party shooter that was released earlier this month. The game has been met with terrible reviews, with many players complaining about bugs and performance issues. In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Spencer said that he was "upset" with himself for the game's launch. He also said that he was "disappointed" in the state of the game, and that he takes full responsibility for it. Spencer also said that he wanted to make it clear that Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, was not responsible for the game's problems as some 5 years later - Xbox and Bethesda aren't fully integrated.
The disastrous launch of Redfall is a setback for Xbox, and it needs to be the wakeup call for them to get it together. Spencer has apologized for the game's problems, and he has vowed to make things right. With Booty at the helm of Xbox Game Studios, there is reason to be optimistic about the future of Xbox gaming but a change has to happen now.
