I wanted to make this video because it took me a few days to do some research on the correct HDMI audio extractor to purchase since there are a lot of them on the market that have different specs.

Important: YOU MUST BUY ONE THAT HAS 18Gbps BANDWIDTH

This will allow you to do 4k60, 1440p120, or 1080p120 (Xbox) whilst having an optical out for external sound systems, headphones etc.

There are some cheaper models on the market that advertise 4k30 which is HDMI spec 1.4 and will not allow 4k60 or even 1440p120.

This is the exact model that I purchased and can confirm that it allows 1440p @ 120Hz
