XC2 Main Game || Putting almost any Blade in Pyra's place [NG+ Exclusive]
Hello! Sorry in advance for the bad quality (as always...)...
This trick is a result of Pneuma Glitch (which is why it's NG+ Exclusive in the first place). For those who don't know what Pneuma Glitch is (not my discovery), please refer to the eponymous vid from Pyro Burn235 ( https://youtu.be/zvFxTszGqTY ) or another vid from someone else maybe for more detail (and explanation) and credits to the rightful finder (not me!)
After opening the menu like you would for Pneuma Glitch, instead of Skip Traveling somewhere, you want to choose the empty slot in the assigning blades menu and choose to put Mythra. (You can always ST in the same menu afterwards if you want don't worry)
You'll now see that the blades that were previously there are still highlighted. That means you did the right thing. Pyra will now be effectively be gone once you go to Ch. 8. Yay!
Now, onto the things this allows and the restrictions of the glitch :
+ 1) Any blade that could belong to Rex *before* the fight (no Brighid or Pandoria etc... ) can be put in Pyra's spot (at least I think).
+ 2) When a blade is _automatically_ assigned by the game (except Shulk and Fiora (and surely Elma)), the glitch state does not reset.
+ 3) Bonuses still apply, and field skills work. However Pyra is *not* assigned, so none of what she has will be accounted for by the game.
+ 4) Once you do the glitch, you can keep it through saves, ST's, switching drivers, and even NG+ if you feel like it (except it's useless for NG+ because of what follows...)
- 5) This state is reset the moment a Blade is _manually_ equipped to or de-equipped from Rex, and only Rex(mainly assigning, merc missions, and Shulk and Fiora the first time), which also means...
- 6)... Since Roc has to be manually equipped before the single field skill event he is essential for (in terms of main story) and because you can't use an Overdrive Protocol to put him on someone else, you cannot go past this trigger with the glitch if you NG+.
- 7) You need Pyra's cooking skill in Ch.2 and Pyra is not assigned with the glitch active, so that is another no-no. (however, maybe you can bring Pyra instead of Mythra? No idea : it didn't seem to work when I tried...)
Some notable and important things next :
A) Your party setup for the fight seems to heavily affect whether or not you can do the glitch. You need to put Morag, Zeke and Rex on the party, Mythra can't be the leading blade on Rex (at least from what I can tell), and almost all blade spots should be full on Morag, Zeke and Rex. Didn't try enough for exact optimal conditions nor for other requirements if there are any.
B) Brighid automatically fills the empty spot when you get her in Ch.8, and is only replaceable, because of 5), by the blade equipped by the game during the ghosts' fight in Ch. 10. It seems to be the first blade belonging to Rex in the blade menu, but maybe not? I dunno.
C) The Blade that gets put in Pyra's spot is always the one in the place of Roc in this video when Mythra is in the last spot.
D) Switching in the overworld does not reset the glitch, but puts Mythra in the 4th slot. From here on out, mid-fight, she will come to the battle whenever her (invisible) cooldown gauge is full, and does so automatically.
Finally, some stupid stuff lol :
~ Don't chain attack in the Jalos fight :( . It's a softlock, as Pneuma, while equipped, is not selectable for the chain after you did the glitch.
~ If you try to use the "Switch to Pyra" option, weird things happen : Mythra stays Mythra, but she becomes a sort of ghost, as she takes on the properties of Pneuma from after Pneuma Glitch. Also, you can now send Pyra on a Merc mission, but the game does not like it : all characters stay moving on the spot, and you can only use menus, so it's pretty much a "" softlock "" in a way, just not a true one.
ST-ing then resets the glitch state.
~ Remember that the game auto-saves when you go fight Aion lol. And the glitch can only be done (for the moment?) in the Jalos fight in NG+, end of Ch.7. Don't be an idiot like me and go right to Aion, unless your goal is precisely testing NG+ or post-game stuff with the glitch, as you won't easily be able to redo the glitch (w/o cloud saves that is).
~ As long as you already have gone and taken Shulk, Fiora and/or Elma at least one time, I think you could use this glitch for the Land of Challenge.(not tested because urgh...) Uh oh.
If you made it here, congrats, you're a true... Erm... Homie ? Fan of Xeno? Fellow bug tester/finder? I don't know.... But sorry anyway for the paragraph, in any case. And more testing would need to be done, but I'm leaving that to you as I'm lazy for now.
Enjoy! :)
