Hello again.

I feel like I've said anything about this game by now. But we still have some more missions to go.

Jared's story
====
(Continuation of events from Ep. 38)
The neural show was everything Jared expected from ADVENT entertainment sector. Bread and butter, without any violence. A limitless potential for any thought being realized. A sandbox of bravest ideas and theories shining through a man's soul.
It was understandable that only a massive disgust could turn ADVENT citizens around from this aritificial paradise.

But even in dream, Jared continued to feel a persistent gaze. It was a steady feeling since February.
Unmistakeably, it was a gaze of the Dimensional Viewer. Despite Jared's thoughts, however... it was a gaze of expectations, pure and without any malicious thought. Almost like if the Dimensional Viewer was wishing to prepare Jared and his former colleagues for their final stand.

Letting his proteges enjoy the amenities around, Jared walked alone around the experimental city after getting off the Ryzona.
This city was supposed to bridge humanity with the alien goons still being alive. Not unlike ADVENT. With Kelly having some sort of a representation in this city and undoubtebly using this influence for her own ends, Jared was rather alarmed. But not more than with the irongrip watch of the Viewer.

The "Renovation" district was the place where Jared could meet Raetezer, presumably. A garbage-filled landfill posing as "the crown jewel of the new world", with surprisingly elitist inhabitants.
If only he could get a touch with everyone (except Wagnerson, obviously) before their departure, Jared would just tell them about the Viewer through Bradford. But he made a mistake in prioritizing his treasured friends and being too afraid to ask others in time.
And now, he has to fix it to prevent their demise. Starting from the door right before his face. Juggling some alloy chips Tina gave Jared in order to enter the building, he went inside.

A feeling painfully familiar. Screams of loss unacceptance and unrestrained self-importance. Decay and societal corrosion fill the air. Arrogance worthy of gods is striking in every corner of this despicable spot.
A competitive gaming championship club. One of the most dreadful places Jared had the misfortune of being in. What could a shy girl like Raetezer forget here?

Going near the local hyperwave competition games, Jared felt uneasiness. He obviously didn't want to be near people (and sometimes even aliens) with egos surpassing that of the Ethereals. They filled him with more and more uneasiness every second he was there.

After what felt like an eternity, Jared found Raetezer.
Or, what has become of her. The girl he known was now a bombastic, obese jerkass using every single word to demoralize her opponents.
Her teammates were even worse, no better than the lowest of the low. But Raetezer was feeling much more... alive? Having a task to do, but not wanting to get under her skin, Jared stood still.

Until Tina arrived. Seeing Jared just watching Raetezer from a distance, she asked him: "And what you're going to do, Hill?"
Jared said: "Well... I could just wish her a happy life..."

Tina's smile vanished, replaced by a visible grimace.
"Coward"

Interrupting the game, Tina caused very vocal complaints from Raetezer's comrades. And a scared look from the girl herself.
Jared couldn't feel anything but fear when Tina grilled Raetezer mercilessly with words. The girl was crying, from both the grilling and the fact she met Tina - their relationship was awful on the Avenger.

After fifteen minutes of merciless word exchange, Tina spinned towards Jared and forced him out of the building.
While on the street, Jared could only just say: "Why you had to bully her, darn it?!".

The responce was a piercing gaze from beyond her glasses and a surprisingly serious tone from Tina.
"I'm doing what you didn't, Hill. She is delusional to think that her competition matters more than her life. (with look of disgust) And to think that you wanted to fuel her fake dream... (with less disgust, but with emptiness) I have first-hand experience where lying leads to in this ramshackle piece of the world. Better make them aware of their death, no matter the cost"

Tina concluded: "At the very least I tried to make the girl understand. Anything after is up to her.

Now, Hill, find your kids. This city's sick, I wanna get out of here and fast"

PS: what I called previously an "aspirantship" is actually post-graduate studies. And I've had a revelation - I'm completely unfit for such tasks, I took a piece of pie too big to swallow. Failure is imminent, with no hope of turnaround with the Lucksgun.
With current year's events, there's barely any emotions other than depression, fear or dread. Making even badly commenting Chimquadron a Herculean task, much less finishing Sonic 1 WDMR or starting uploading EU I/I Replaythrough.
