Great risks can yield great reward, and XCOM's assault on a landed Abductor craft in the Canadian wilderness was one such great risk. The payoff, however, was a successful operation yielding a secured craft so enormous that it has provided enough resources to potentially level the playing field against the aliens in the short term. With the Research division concluding their development of feasible laser-based weaponry, Engineering has begun to manufacture the first Laser Rifles for operational use. Meanwhile, another abduction is reported in Chihuahua, Mexico. With initial recon reporting a moderate number of contacts, a mixed experience squad of operatives suits up to engage the threat.
