What is XDefiant?
XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced, first-person shooter. Developed by Ubisoft San Francisco, XDefiant features playable factions from the Ubisoft universe, each with unique abilities. Pair that with an arsenal of primary and secondary weapons, attachments, and devices to complete your loadout, and go to battle with a variety of maps and modes.
What are the minimum requirements?
Current system requirements have yet to be finalized for XDefiant. Once they are, we will ensure they are posted for everyone to review.
Is there Cross-Play?
Yes! XDefiant is currently planned to support Cross-Play at launch.
When will the game officially launch?
Later this summer!
How would I access the game when it comes out?
It will be free to play, so you'll be able to access it through the Ubisoft Launcher, Xbox Series X|S, PS5.
What platforms will the game be released on?
Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
The last gen is actively being worked on so that they offer a similarly great experience to the current gen.
We will launch them as soon as they are ready.
What frames will the game run?
The PS5 and Xbox Series X will do 120hz at 4K. The Xbox S runs at 1440p and will be able to turn on 120hz mode but won't necessarily maintain 120hz all the time.
Will there be KB&M support on the console?
It's something we are working on and have the basics down, but there is still UI and tuning work to do, which pushes it out past launch.
Open Session Information
Input setting always showing locked
This is okay because this setting is not restricting inputs for matchmaking in the Open Session. It will be used at Launch for Input-Based matchmaking
Unlocking DedSec
During the Open Session you will be able to complete a challenge for an early permanent unlock of DedSec faction. By earing 125K XP during the Open Session you will have DedSec waiting you for Day 1 of our launch!
When will the next test(s) be?
Anyone who participated in the Closed Beta in April can log in on June 20th to join the Open Session.
For everyone else, the Open Session starts at 10 AM PT/ 7 PM CEST on Wednesday, June 21st.
Open Sessions end at 11 PM PT Friday, June 23rd / 8 AM CEST Saturday, June 24th.
What platforms will the next test(s) be on?
Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
How would I access the next test(s)?
This test will be open, so no need to register. Once the game is available, it will show for download on the available platforms. Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
How to preload Open Session?
Ubisoft Connect:
• Select the "Games" tab.
• Under "My Games," Choose the "XDefiant" tile.
• Select either "Preload" or "Update".
If you are playing on PlayStation, you can update your game or reinstall the Open Session from your PlayStation library.
If you are playing on Xbox, you will need to uninstall the Closed Beta and install the XDefiant Open Session.
When will preload start?
If you are playing on PC, you will be able to preload or update your game starting 16 June 2023
Will my progress transfer over to the release?
Cosmetics and Twitch drops will carry over, but progression will reset at launch.
