XDR Toneburst - No Noise Reduction and Noise Removed - Cassette source (analog) to 192khz / 32-bit
This capture of the 1980s 1990s 2000s XDR Toneburst is part of an ongoing quest for the perfect XDR Toneburst recording and restoration.
This sample is thanks to reddit contributor Cyb3ron on r/cassetteculture who supplied a recording of the XDR tone burst that was "straight from my minty copy of Megadeth's "Peace Sells.... but Who's Buying" ... Captured from my TEAC V380C ... to my Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Edition PCIe sound card at 192khz with 32-bit float."
Cyb3ron noted that Dolby NR is not preferred for capturing the original tone burst. The first part of this video captures the original cassette recording in its no-Dolby form, and the second part applies surgical noise removal to that source recording, via Acon Digital Acoustica.
