Xenoblade 2 Randomized Difficulty - Chapter 3
0This is a randomized difficulty playthrough of Xenoblade 2, where the difficulty settings are randomized every chapter. This playthrough will cover every story fight in the game, and eventually do every challenge mode battle and superboss. A random number generator is used with the numbers 1-10 to determine the settings (1 the lowest, 10 the highest). Later on, more settings are unlocked and those will only go from 1-4.
The difficulty settings for this chapter are BRUTAL. Very high attack power, high attack frequency, and high enemy hp. Since it is still early game options are also limited, which makes everything even more challenging. There are several bosses this chapter, most of which are very threatening and difficult to take down. Bosses with more than one enemy tended to be harder. Three bosses were the most challenging: Vandham, Elder Arachno, and Akhos/Malos. Vandham is joined by two others, and all three have strong arts. Even when Vandham is alone, he is tanky enough to take a while to finish him off. Elder Arachno has a powerful AoE that nearly OHKOs the party, while also having other strong arts and is very durable. Akhos/Malos are able to shackle drivers and blades, and Malos can also taunt the party so this fight can be irritating and somewhat at the whim of luck. Both have threatening arts and can topple. Fortunately, only phase 1 is an issue.
