This is video #032 in my gameplay series of Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed for the Nintendo Switch.

Previously, the party carried out the standard quest "Breaking Ground" in Colony 9. Then, they hunted Testudos at the Moonbright Regiment Outpost and crafted everyone's Rank VII weapons at Riku's Workshop. Now, they will hunt Gotthard, the Ethereal, one of the big 5 unique monsters in "Future Redeemed". Its drops will allow them to craft their Rank VIII weapons.

0:36 - Colony 9

The party resumes at the Colony 9 Camp. Matthew equips a Break Brooch, which will help him inflict Break more successfully on tough enemies. Also, under Unity, Matthew gets paired with Shulk; Matt and Shulk can use their Unity combo at the start of battle. This is especially useful for short battles, and it provides a Burst finisher useful for farming items.

The party follows a Kugel Taos out of the colony to hunt it for the Enemypaedia.

3:04 - Yesterdale

The party intercepts the Kugel Taos at Ruined Anti-Air Battery 3 and takes it out for the Enemypaedia.

They skip travel back to Riku's Workshop, Colony 9.

4:56 - Colony 9

At Riku's Workshop, the party checks the requirements for the Rank VIII weapons. Then, they skip travel to the Elevator Landing Camp, Aurora Shelf.

5:38 - Aurora Shelf

The party chats with Jilljill, who has new dialogue since "wastepon Bobobi" has finished collecting Nopon Medals ... or having the party collect Nopon Medals for him!

Afterwards, the party skip travels to the Ferronis Crater landmark in the the Aurora Shelf's northwestern valley.

At the Sullied Temple of Abitalia the party fights Gotthard, the Ethereal, a Level 60 unique Darbus. This foe is certainly no pushover. It hits like a truck, especially when it is enraged late in the battle, and it has very high defense. As if that weren't bad enough, Gotthard can summon aid. At first, it summons little Gotthard-Kin Grebels, but larger ones appear later. The party can bring them in AOE range of Gotthard and let loose with AOEs in a Chain Attack.

Gotthard, the Ethereal, drops Mineral Darbus Bones of the rarity required for Rank VIII weapons. Repeated Burst combos can help the party gather as many as they need. Other drops include Strategy Manual, vol. 7, and Strategy Manual, vol. 9.

After defeating Gotthard, the party skip travels to Riku's Workshop, Colony 9.

33:01 - Colony 9

At Riku's Workshop, the party upgrades Matthew's Ouroboros Knuckles, A's Monado, Nikol's Variable Backpack, Glimmer's Wildfire Kithara, Shulk's Monado REX+, and Rex's Firelight Swords to Rank VIII. Egel Horns are required for the upgrades to Rank IX.

Now, they will wrap up the Collectopaedia collection for the Black Mountains. They skip travel to Raxeal Lavaflow landmark, Black Mountains.

34:40 - Black Mountains

The party wanders around the Black Mountains to gather the remaining Collectopaedia entries. At Level 60, it's a pleasant stroll without enemies everywhere aggroing. They even wrap up an Enemypaedia entry in the slopes above the Town of Banerro Ruins.

The party explores down the mountain first. Then, they go up through the Argan Cathedral Ruins. Afterwards, they skip travel to the Valak Mountain Camp and take the Ether Slide to Prison Island. They snag another Enemypaedia entry on Gravina Bridge.

When they finish the Collectopaedia, they skip travel to the Colony 9 Camp.

57:29 - Colony 9

The party saves at the Colony 9 Camp. Next time, they will defeat normal enemies for the Enemypaedia.
